vip: they are white.. with a slight hint of yellow.
you wont have to worry about burning through a harness. these kits are TOP NOTCH with all Philips components. not only that, xenonfactory has a 3 year warranty on them. (1 year through polarion, the kit manufacturer, and the other 2 years by xenonfactory themselves).
mcDrama: i got my 4100k kit for ~$400. but they were on sale then. the price right now is $485.. the higher bulb temp kits are more $$$

The Kelvin rating is all about color, not light intensity. The 4300K - 6000K HIDs give you the most usable light. Anything beyond that, you actually LOSE light, since the light is up in the higher end of the visible spectrum, getting closer to UV than the lower colors. While 8000K looks nice and purple bling, it actually throws out less visible light (in terms of lumens) than 4300K. 8000K is about the same amount of color partly cloudy skies, while 5000K is about the same color as the light from the Sun at high noon. 8000K will put out about 2200 lumens, while 6000K will put out about 3200 lumens. As a general rule, the higher the color past white light (about 4300-6000K), the less lumens you get (10-25% less). However, this is still tons better than halogen (which is around 1200 lumens).

Everything technical you ever wanted to know about HIDs: http://www.dynavisionatc.com/abc.html
the automotive lighting faq: http://faqlight.carpassion.info/
You have to realized that the farther from the center of the visible light spectrum you get, the less the reflected light is actually usable by your eyes.
I personally bought 4300K lights, since they had a lumen rating of about 3500.

HIDs are installed, lighting is soo much better than stock.. Just need to break the lights in about 100 hours or so.. Very happy, although 6000k would have LOOKED better, but the lighting with 4100k is much brighter....
Hey Felix, the HID's on your car when I checked it out (long while ago....2 years?) were from Xenon Factory?
I still don't have the ***** to dremel my EDM projector housing.

I'm sold. I like the no risk stand alone set up. Also like how Phillips standardizes the kits by bulb instead my car model. If I wasn't buying 18's today I'd buy that kit right now!
