Google Chrome

http://www.google.com/chrome

The Google Web browser.

I installed, expected something better from Google.
But anything is better than Internet explorer and Safari.

I don't like how google chrome is so similar to IE7's interface.
And it lacks little things that I as a web designer use often.

Eh, I mean I guess Safari works nicely for end users, but as a web designer I absolutely despise it.. there is something wrong with a browser when you code everything to "strict standards" and the browser still doesn't display stuff correctly.

(ps I just bought a macbook and love it. will never use windows again unless I wanna play non-mac supported games which isn't often)

I'm testing it out right now. The default interface is very basic. It seems to load a lot of my regular sites fairly quickly. For example I still use Myspace (haha I know) and a few of my friend's pages take a LOT longer to load in IE7 than in Chrome.

I'll keep using it for a while and see how I like it.

As they should be.

Google:
Hire the best and brightest people in the world.
Keep the people you hired happy.
Give creative freedom to the creative people.
Let the staff work on things THEY want to work on.
Keep your company image in good standing.

Google does all of those things and more. I have a couple of friends that work there. If I wanted to stay in the IT world I would have applied there. When you're on the Google campus you realize just how ****ty your place of work is lol.

Have you tried Firefox?

Again, Firefox. There are nifty extensions such as FireBug which allow you to debug (watches, breakpoints, etc) JavaScript from within the browser, and Web Developer which lets you futz with things in place (basically too many awesome features to list here). Also, there are a few addons that allow you to open pages within Firefox that use the IE rendering engine. This way you can see your page in a W3C-compliant browser, and one that's not (margin<->padding, grrrr).
