Wow, I'm glad you are ok!!!

I've never experienced snap oversteer in my Subi. Is this something that earlier models exhibited, or am I just not driving it right? Are you sure you guys aren't just unloading the rear end too much when downshifting?

Honestly I don't know because normally when I push my car it just slides around.. and this happened at 30-35mph and the posted speed limit was 25mph

That's usually what causes it..lift off oversteer...

Keep your foot on the gas

Its weird I don't really get the snap oversteer, I feel like it starts to lose grip and it'll slide a little but it never (or at least hasn't) happened yet

I've got such a weird suspension setup though haha

I've had mine snap. It's usually a combination of things. Over loading your suspension and then lifting. A lot has to do with suspension set up and just driving.

You can feel mine super easy. I can make it snap in the snow. I also run pretty large sway bars.

Lifting and ice are the only two causes I've had in my legacy, and the snap on the ice was exasperated by lifting. The car started to go when I wasn't expecting it (during a left turn in an intersection early one morning) and my brain went "WTF?!!?!?" and I lifted.

Glad you are okay.

Snap oversteer happens, but doesn't mean you lose control. Sometimes, the combo of things equates to losing control.

Be more careful next time.
