Good shop to get a timing belt done

What's a good shop around here that won't charge an arm and a leg for a timing belt job? What do they typically cost?

I got my timing belt done at RBMS. I'd also look into LIC Motorsports. Just remember... get it done right. Paying more to get it done right is cheaper than replacing your motor... or paying someone else to fix the someone else's mistake.

Auto HQ does not disappoint. Kevin is the master when it comes to stuff like timing belts and other services.

Thanks guys!

Last owner did a ton of preventative maint, but didn't have a timing belt done so it's making me nervous. She said she did have it inspected and it was ok for now. It's at 108k so past the due date :S

Just because it doesn't LOOK like it might break doesn't mean it won't, so saying it was "inspected" is kind of dumb. Sorry, not good enough for something that could instantly cost you a rebuild.

She might have meant drive belt. I dont see why youd pay for the labor to pull off the covers only to not do the belt.

Depends on where you're at. In the bay area there are the best shops out here for Subaru's.

South Bay? Speed Element.
Peninsula? AutoHQ
East Bay? GSTMotorSports
North Bay? LICMotorSports
Sacramento? DBTuned

There are a lot more that are part of the website, just look at the vendors. I'm not hating on any that I'm not listing, I just dont know them off the top of my head. However, I've been to every shop I listed there and none of them disappoint. Some are busy than others, GST is always busy, but that comes with their brand name.

We have a great deal on the timing belt service with a gates kit. We've been doing them for a couple years now and have a couple scheduled for this week. Give us a call if you'd like a quote.

Thanks
