Good/reasonably priced vet
My cat came inside earlier and I picked him up and put him in my girlfriend's lap (he likes to sit and watch while we're on the computers) and he decided he was going to go lay down on the bed. He walked over to the bed, jumped up and missed and well back hard.
He started meowing pretty loud, I went up to him and he started hissing at me. I was like whoa wtf, he never hisses at me, and it appears that his rear lower leg is swollen a bit on the top of his paw. I examined him and his bones are intact for what I can feel, but it doesn't mean he doesn't have a hairline fracture.
His respirations and heart rate are normal, and the leg doesn't appear to be hot, but I'm worried that he may have been bitten by a spider in the garden.
I called a local vet, but I don't know how good they are. They told me to put him in a crate and limit his movement, but I don't have anything strong enough to deter him from getting out (he clawed out of a cardboard box that I tried). They said after limiting movement for 24 hours there's no change to bring him in.
Anyone have one of those hard plastic cat carriers that I an borrow? I only have a soft one.

We've taken ours to The Cat Hospital in Campbell, that's a fair bit from you though.

Give it a day or two and see how the cat reacts. My cat ran into a wall at full spread after falling and was limping with a swollen leg for 1-2 days and was pissed for a little but she is fine now. remember when you sprang your ankle or wrist you say many things especially when someone grabs it so that is why this was hissing and stuff

This is the Vet that I take my dog & cat to. The staff here is excellent. Saturday should be regular priced visits. While they are also open on Sunday's I believe they charge a bit more on Sundays.

Michele Dodd is the doctor I usually try and see on the weekends. I have also had Liesl Peterson as the doctor for my dog Dao at one point. She is the doctor that my parents regularly use for their cat as well.
They are staffed 24 hours a day and you can receive 24 Hour Emergency Care if need be.

I want to say they offered a discount for first time customers, but I can't seem to find that on their webpage at the moment. If you do go there tell them Tim Seitz recommended you go there. They should know my dog Dao & my cat Nalla.
