Good local Tuner? East Bay Area

Hi guys,

I'm new here - located in Pleasant Hill. I just got a 2017 STi - I was planning to do mods myself, but now I'm thinking of doing more difficult things, and ones that will require (or at least should have) Protune/dynotune. So, I need someone who can do both, or who can install the parts and then I will get an e-tune...Who do you local guys go to for installs/tuning?

Thanks!!!

I did - I found a post from as recently as 2014...

This is my 25th car. Over the years, I have seen local shops start up, run really well, then fizzle out as they get busier- customer service fades, motors blow, tuners leave, or start new shops. So, I want CURRENT, relevant info.

Also, as a member of countless other message boards for various other cars that I've owned, I can tell you that once the majority of older members take on the mantra of "just search for it, everything has been covered already," people stop posting questions, and the forum slows to a crawl and dies. Who cares if something has been posted before? Either answer the posed question or simply ignore the thread.

LIC in Novato or GST in Hayward, or Snail Performance if you want to schlep all the way to Sac.

Just ran a search for "East Bay Tuner" and, discarding the obvious non-results (snowboarding thread, meet thread, and basketball thread), the top result, while not my first choice, is a vendor advertising tuning services.

+1 for GST or Snail on that side. If you want to make the trek then LIC too Down here, Delicious comes a few times a year to tune at Mann.

GST was mentioned a few times in the other thread from a couple years ago. If they're still going strong, I will definitely check in with them for my needs. Thank you!

I recommend EQ Tuning as well, but that is the only shop I've taken my WRX to. My best recommendation is to contact each one and see who will suit your needs.

There are quite a few. EQ tuning, LIC, Snail... but. Only one tuner/shop in all of the bay area, and in fact the country has the top fastest Subaru record laps. That shop is GST, something to ponder there.

Take it to who you want, but me, why go to 'good' when you can have the best of the best tune your car?

I think GST just cleared 10 years of business? I'd say they're going pretty strong.

Although their trailer did recently brake a bit...

LIC doesn't tune. They do however do top notch... everything else.
