Is this a good deal?
Is this a good deal?
I am considering to buy a 2002 WRX, completely stock. It has 36,000 miles on it and has the base WRX options (no wing, short throw shifter, etc.). The price is $16,200. I went to KBB, and blue book is $16,880. Let me know if you think this is a good deal.
-Thanks for the help,

Deal fell through. After agreeing on the price and me requiring that an inspection needed to be completed, the seller backed out. He said that he had another seller who was not requiring a smog check or an inspection. I checked with the DMV, and they said a smog inspection needed to be done regardless of what year the car is when the title is transfered. The seller insisted that he didn't need a smog check done before the sale(he has never had a smog inspection done on the car). Does anyone know the rules regarding the smog inspection? Thanks.

either way...isn't an 02 car exempt from smog upon transfer as per some new law that passed last year?

it has to be smogged when a transfer of ownership occurs and has to be paid by the onwer of the vehicle and not the purchaser.
Brett, him not wanting an inspection done would have thrown a red flag in my mind...
