Good car shops in the bay area?

I am just about to buy a used M roadster from someone in the bay area (Walnut Creek?), but before I buy it I want it to be fully checked out by a good shop. Does anybody from the area have any recommondations? I was looking to get it checked out by the local BMW dealers, but most of them have bad reviews. BTW i'm from the east coast. Thanks.

How old is the BMW? If it's anything over 5 years old, it's going to be a headache... a well known trait in most European Luxury cars. A lot of lighting/wiring goes bad after 5 years, and IMHO, electrical is the last thing I want to diagnose on a car.

Also, my mom got a used 330 and she wanted it to be checked by the dealer, they're asking something like $200+ just to do a quick check and make sure nothing is fuxed. If you're gonna pay over $40k for a car, you'd think they'd be willing to give you a courtesy check.

No, it was something around 36 for a year old 330i. I'm just saying that a new 330 will cost over 40k and even after paying that much they won't check your vehicle for free unless the service light or the CEL is on.
