aboothman 04-19-2012 05:59 PM

I am not...CAN NOT buy it even if I wanted another 06. I have $80 to feed me for the next month lol. Besides I doubt Kelly will regret selling it. He has so damn many projects he probably forgets about half of em most of the time!!

kmurphy 04-19-2012 10:10 PM

Adam is pretty much spot on. I enjoy building stuff way too much for people who have some $$$$$ than rather do work on my budget build. Im too busy working on everyone elses stuff that my car is the last thing on my mind, if someone offered me money for it I wouldnt hesitate to sell it and probably wouldnt notice that its gone except for the fact that it wouldnt be sitting in front of the house.

That said bidding starts at $16k

think you could fab a custom exhaust for a 335i?1300$ for a 2.5" catback is insane to me.

kmurphy 04-30-2012 09:52 PM

ive got stock dps and fixtures made for making downpipes for both the n54 and n55 motor but havent got around to actually making them :(

as for right now i have a 09 sedan on standbuy pending a guy picking the car up. white w/black interior, sport pkg. 100% bone stock minus gunmetal VMR vb3 wheels.

goals are simple. cattless DP,tune and dci. im stuck on which tuner to go with. the procede from vishnu has killer reviews BUT i HATE fftec with a passion.
the burger jb4 seems to fit the bill for me. id be willing to be your test pilot for downpipes, just do me a solid on price lol.
Im stoked but then again im not. Havent driven the vehicle in months so at this point I could "almost" care less if its running or not, or care for even owning it lol. We'll see what happens once the vehicle is running. Ive had some kw v3's sitting here for months that need installing as well. Have ground control camber plates on them, linear spring conversion on the rear and upgraded spring rates all the way around. So the car should be fairly ready for fun this summer. I also got a diesel truck and am searching for a trailer right now to tow it with.

But I could turn around in a month and sell it for whatever just to get rid of itm who knows
could you tell me where you got the linear kit, and the rear camber plates for the v3's? Im really thinking about doing mine.

stupidchicken03 07-01-2012 07:19 PM

how much did that little pipe cost?:lol:

kmurphy 07-01-2012 07:27 PM

Thats probably $20 in titanium

kmurphy 07-01-2012 07:31 PM

But...........titanium filler rod goes for over $100 lb, upwards of close to $150.

I wanted a "cheap" way to play with some titanium and actually be able to make a part from it. Its actually not "that" expensive.

stupidchicken03 07-02-2012 02:14 PM

Not bad

GST Motorsports 07-02-2012 02:33 PM

Our tie rod extenders are made from titanium and the grade used was $bank$!

kmurphy 07-02-2012 07:26 PM

would imagine they were made from grade 5 titanium or also known as 6al-4v. Guys at work always laugh at me when I made **** from high grade materials. They couldnt believe the cost on the inconel tubing i had bent to make rotated kits.

GST Motorsports 07-09-2012 11:23 AM

Interesting setup for a standard location turbo, should be interesting to see how the spool time differs for sure.

On a side note with the turbo mounted centrally how much piping length do you think you saved over the OE location?

jdblock 07-09-2012 11:43 AM

Is this for the Manx build?

kmurphy 07-09-2012 12:13 PM

Ya this is for tube frame Mendola suspension equipped Manx. Turbo size should be plenty big for such a lightweight chassis. Off the top of my head total of 5' of piping probably compared to an actual header.

jdblock 07-09-2012 12:39 PM

That turbo placement with an air-to-water intercooler would be amazaballs on a Subaru.

kmurphy 07-09-2012 01:11 PM

Ya, im half tempted to make myself a set and run the smaller gtx3071r turbo since I just sold my radiator and intercooler and redoing the setup. Nice quick spooling setup for fun in the sierras.

Not in a desperate rush have a few things to iron out on the new setup first.

What turbo is that? The comp cover looks huge but the wheel not so much.

kmurphy 07-13-2012 09:08 AM

Running a new turbo or a complete new turbo setup? The turbo is a bw s466 with a billet Wheel and .9* something ar twinscroll housing.... Shotting for 800 hp

GST Motorsports 07-13-2012 09:34 AM

It's a whole new engine and turbo setup geared towards 1000whp.

So finally giving my e30 some attention even though the sti needs it way more. After over a week of adding 3 gallons of bondo to the severly dented roof and sanding it I finally got it ready to be used as a mold/template for the carbon replacement. I will be caging the e30 and will cut off the roof once its ready to be welded and then install the carbon roof once that is done.

man with all these projects going on,any idea on when you might start breaking ground on a n54 downpipe? i was going to pull the trigger on a vrsf set but im holding off for a little longer.

and another thought was a charge pipe..

and this maybe a total waste of your skills but im looking for someone to make some rockrails for my f250 using 2-2.5" dom

kmurphy 07-31-2012 02:16 AM

The n54 downpipes are a much bigger fixture to build and im also not quite sure if Id rather build them off the fixture or on a actual vehicle. making a fixture of an oem part only does so much. I get accurate start and and end points as well as fixturing oem bracket locations. The negative aspect is it doesnt tell me how I can improve the oem routing or how far away i am from something if I choose the oem routing and use large diameter tubing.

And once I do the egr and make a new intake bridge I'll have more room for to be able to redo my turbo inlet (with the clearance dent) and make it one without the clearance dent so that everything can flow and look great.

aboothman 08-12-2012 11:25 AM

I thought you sold that truck

kmurphy 08-12-2012 11:37 AM

I sold the dodge, but I bought a 2008 duramax

aboothman 08-12-2012 12:03 PM

Oh Jesus! I hope they fixed the injector issue in the Duramaxes...

kmurphy 08-12-2012 12:13 PM

I think the injector issues are way in the past in the older lb7 motor. I have the lmm which is supposed to be one of the better motors. I did exhaust and a tuner and it woke up quite a bit.

xtremeyolks 08-12-2012 01:49 PM

Oh you did? LOL duramax ftw. And they fixed the injector issues in 04.5+. Too bad I have an 04. Have changed the injectors once so far. What a pain :(

aboothman 08-12-2012 01:57 PM

Ya one of my employees has one... Cost him 4k to get them replaced. I told him to sell that ****!!

kmurphy 08-12-2012 02:02 PM

Ya the duramax is very nice. Bought a white '08 extended cab short bed w/ towing package, z71 package. Took forever to find a nice short bed extended cab not many of those rolling around duramax equipped.

I'm still searching everyday for a trailer, might drive to Reno this week and grab one.

aboothman 08-12-2012 02:12 PM

Short bed extended cab? Might as well buy an avalanche, cause that's not a real truck!!

I was talking about a trucks ability to haul stuff... You know, the thing they were made for? So tell me, how big is the lift, and the tires? ;)

kmurphy 08-12-2012 02:52 PM

It will tow just as good as a crew cab or long bed setup. Bed is large enough to put anything I would need to in it. Besides I need something semi light so I can pull several car lengths on your Suby :) !!

kmurphy 08-12-2012 02:53 PM

And it's not getting lifted, I'm going the opposite of the bro way. I'm lowering the frot end a tad so the cv's are straight and then lowering the back end to level out the truck.

Either by making a hard line or using a soft line setup with AN fittings. Made because I hated routing the oil line on rotated turbo setups with that factory hard line. Now I can point the line towards the turbo directly out of the block and have a nicely routed line that's not on the verge of kinking, and its easy to install.

Wish I would have known all that a couple weeks ago. I just replaced that 4" line on the turbo last week :(
