Going to Southeast Asia: Need Advice
Never been to SE Asia myself, but every time I go backpacking in another country:
I stay in hostels and hang out with other travelers. It isn't too hard to find someone to go party with. Stay away from sex workers. There's plenty to do, plenty to see, and you can always try your luck picking up women (non-hookers) at the clubs. You might have better luck than you think.

Definitely make Thailand a destination. You won't regret it. I went to Thailand one summer with some friends, and it was a blast. Everything is cheap there, you can live like a king for just a few bucks...IF you or someone in your group speaks Thai. If you speak only English you'll get ripped off by the locals. I remember a group of 10 of us ate some of the best Thai food you can imagine and got drunk off endless bottles of Singha beers for like $40US.
If you don't have a lot of time, just go straight to Bangkok and Pattaya. Those cities are only an hour drive of each other. Pattaya is crazy, so much to see and do there.
Hit the beach and go para sailing, snorkeling, jet skiing, etc during the day. At night go hit the strip, get wasted and meet some girls.
If you want to do some sightseeing and see the Buddhist temples, there's a city like 50km west of Bangkok. I forgot the name of it. But it's a popular tourist spot. One thing to note is, the monks at the temples there are known for doing tattoos. I remember thinking my friend was nuts for getting one. I don't even think they use an autoclave to clean their needles. Get a tatt at your own risk. LOL.
If you're into Muay Thai, go to Lumphini Stadium in Bangkok and watch some fights. Sometimes they have big name fighters like Buakaw Por Pramuk fighting there.
Anyways there's too much other **** to list. Hope you have fun on your trip and bring plenty of rubbers!

+1 on the Muay Thai in Bangkok. Lumpinee Stadium and Rajadmnern Stadium are the 2 big venues; you'll find A-Class fights 6 nights a week between the two stadiums.
When in Malaysia and Singapore, don't be a loud *** obnoxious 'Merican. The two countries are quite conservative, so don't do anything to stick out too badly. Save it for Thailand where no one gives a crap
Singapore's got great food: tasty, cheap, and clean. The hawkers' centers are the places to go for great Singaporean fare: chow kuay teoh, satay, assam laksa, roti canai, , etc.
