I suggest you stop at the kettleman city in-n-out if you are driving up on the i5.

Would have been a good idea to call a tuner ahead of time to schedule an appointment...Hit up Gruppe-S if you want to get a tune though. Mustang Dyno and a great tuner too.

do the usual tour, golden gate bridge, park presidio, twin peaks, and be sure to check out hunter's point or sunnydale area It's an up and coming tourist attraction

Isn't it the only food on I-5?

Techincally there are other sources of food along the i5, but in my humble opinion, if you eat anywhere else... you're an idiot.

i like hitting the truck stops, preferrrably the one on 152E right before you hit I-5 and the one in Grapevine on I-5S before you hit the mountain. i mean, cmon, a steak dinner for 7 bucks!? cant pass that up.

Probably too late to get an appointment...maybe it's different in SoCal, but here, Tuners don't take "walk-ins", especially on their busiest day (sat).

Driving to the top of Mt Hammy is cool (a sense of the Bay Area and suby feel) or Mt Tam in Saulsalito, or My Diable (though I haven't tried that yet).

Drive to Tiburon and take a ferry to angel island and hike to the top and enjoy the 360 view.

Drive to Treasure Island and check out the night skyline, tehn hit twin peaks and get a bird's eye perspective.

you can hit Union Sq early and maybe get half-off same-night tix to SF shows...beach blanket babylon is a local fave (though I haven't tried that either)..they have a website w/ listings

Drive through Monterey and hit the Pebble Beach driving range (affordable and still very nice)...cruise through cannery row (touristy)...hit Santa Cruz...and tehn head up towards the bay area.

just random stuff to do...

have fun.
