Section 8 is federal funding for rent. if i understand correctly and i maybe/probably am wrong

Somewho they base yoru rent off of how much you make in a month, and the govt pays your rent or a majority percentage. Landlords like this cuz it is garanteed rent, especially in higher income areas.

a down side to it though is you see places like brentwood turn into holes or novato turn into vallejo. And unknown to anyone, when some of the folks on section 8 assistance move from a place like vallejo to a nice place liek novato and after a bit of time they start turning it into vallejo. gang activity goes up and people do dumb **** like "ghost riding". though this isnt always the cast it is the majority routine of what happens.

OMG that was massively funny, I've not seen that one before.

 

As I understand it, the govt pays 66% of your rent, based on the average rents in an area, and you pay 33%, so far so good. The land owner gets 66% even if you decide not to pay your rent....but that's the problem after a month you quit paying rent and it's very hard to evict a section 8 renter, especially if they know what they are doing, they can go to court and say they are paying part of their rent...but they aren't really, the govt is. Since they have no money on the line, they pretty much tear up any property that they are renting.

A couple of my neighbors have tried renting section 8, because they are guaranteed some money every month, but in general, there is way more damage than they make on rent.

This is not to demean anyone forced into section 8 housing, this is an "in general" sense, but if people have something with no stake in it, they tend to not respect it very much.
