GGF lot policy?
GGF lot policy?
I was at Golden Gate fields the other day. The lot where they hold auto-x always seems to be open and I see various cars driving around inside. Does management care about that? I'd imagine it's a "private property/tresspassing" issue, but why do they leave the gate open?
Btw, that place seems like the bay area's "learn-to-drive-stick" lot. I saw 3 cars just goin' back and forth, stalling all over the place; including a girl coaching some 20-something dude in a brand new Mustang GT. Guess it's pretty clear who wears the pants in that relationship

I imagine they don't mind so much if there isn't an event and you're just put-putting around learning to drive a stick but... if you were to set up a few cones or start doing donuts in the dirt they might take notice.
I really don't know what their official policy is though. I know they are very noise sensitive because of the horses. When we hold SCCA events there we're not allowed to use the PA system.
Cheers, Joe

Heh thanks Joe!
I'm not so much concerned with the ad-hoc driving schools people hold as I am with their reaction if I'm going around the lot screeching the tires on a mock slalom
I figure insurance/liability issues would pop up, but they're kinda asking for it keeping a completely empty lot open and unattended
The GGF lot is strewn with pebbles and grit, do you know of any place that's open (and hopefully safe/legal) to practice aggressive/autox techniques outside of an actual event?
Thanks!
