-2 stroke boxer motor.
-2 cylinder, 4 pistons.
-electric-controlled turbocharger.

What isn't there to love about this motor?

Only the Germans would think that adding a second set of pistons and rods is "simplifying" the engine!

The electronic cluch idea sounds more like a trick to fool the EPA test. I can't see it being actually usefull in the city type of driving.

it would work more like the cars that drop off cylinders when not needed now... like during cruise. so most likely no that wouldnt help for city driving.

looks pretty cool but like Ed said only Germans would think this is simplifying the engine haha

Back to the intake/exhaust... I would think this engine would have the same issues as wankels because there's no cylinder head. Won't there be sealing issues? The video shows the exhaust holes when the pistons are extended... how then do they lubricate the back of the pistons? Etc.
