i saw that a few days ago at various 4wd forums...

whenever i am helping out a stranger out of a situation like that, i always have them out the end of tow strap themselves. of course i give them tips and advice of what and what not to do...

and in the case of the geo, that is wha NOT to do... lol....

Still funny.....

Don't laugh too hard- there is a lesson here, don't try to pull your car out by the little tie-down hooks!

It'll mess up a subie pretty bad too (maybe not that bad, but I stupidly did a similar thing to my Forester on the Alcan in 2000).

live and learn

I think the lesson to be learned from that video is like, tow the car out of the snow bank, not into it.

As for the tow hooks on the WRX:
I used my rear passenger one to pull a Chevy Tahoe back on the road after he lost in the rain in the right lane and came across my path and went over the curb 180'd took out a sign and put his rear wheel over the edge of a drop off only to discover he was now stuck in the mud.
I figured it was better to tie his truck up instead of risking it falling on the road below. Then we decided just a little forward force and the thing could get back on the road. He was amazed at the AWD power of the Subaru.
Oh and thankful.
