GBOD: I removed the bolts, now how do i take it out?

This is for the driver's side GBOD. Took a few minutes to get off the 4 bolts but now I have no earthly clue how to take it out, just a rat's nest of lines. Any suggestions?

Also, for turbo removal, can this be done without going under the car? I think you have to right, since there's a third UP bolt that's underneath the DP?

Thanks,
Ambert

sorry, but what is a GBOD??

and yes you need to get the bolt under the DP/UP off by going under the car and reaching up.

They are the brackets that cover the fuel rails. See, the service manual just says "step 2: remove the fuel line protector" sounds so easy doesn't it....

oh...the "army green" covers...well those are a PITA!!!! So, your main tool will have to be patience!!! You have to just see whats in the way, and what can be taken off to give you slack. Take your time and watch out for what your doing.

Dont bother putting them back on...most people just leave them off. But thats up to you.

hope this helps little

They are pretty easy to get off once you clear all the lines away. There are a few plastic tie straps holding the wiring harness to various lines around there. Just disconnect the straps and then wiggle the bracket out. You will need to pull away on a few of the lines in order to give clearance to the bracket but it will come out.

You will need to jack the car up for the turbo. The uppipe bolts you remove from above the car but in order to get to those the downpipe has to be off.

Just to clarify, some of those are coolant lines so I'll need to get clamps ready?
