ya that is a "all show no go" location to put a gauge

GO a pillar or center gauge cluster if your serious about keeping tabs on things.

Center... It's really the way to go.

I may not have gauges right now, but i've driven many peoples cars, and some hard, like aarons. I definitly like the gauges in the center.

I have the bezel, with two Autometer gauges (Z series EGT and Volt....have the Omori Boost gauge in the Subaru colum-mount pod). They work great, and they are much EASIER to see in that location than the dashtop pods (been there, done that, yanked it back out of the car).

BTW, the green bulb condoms match the stock backlighting a lot better.

I need to still install my Omori gauges.... sheesh, these were like the very first mod I purchased and haven't gotten around to doin' it. Also, it didn't help that I was lazy about ordering the galley plug part from the dealer. Now that I have it, there's no excuse.

Yo... International B... yu gonna hep me out? What yu doin' today say around 3pm?

They're probably laughing at us for using Defi gauges..

autometer makes some awesome mechanical gauges, simple to setup, most of the time accurate. majority of the Japanese brand gauges are electronic, which makes it easier to install, but personally I don't like having fluids coming into the cabin, just as you would if you had a mechanical oil press, or fuel press.

It fits VERY well....IF (and this is key) you follow the directions Autometer gives with it.

The issue is that there are two brackets that Autometer has you add under the bottom of the bezel. They are sort of a PITA to install to get them lined up just right. I suspect that most folks who did whine about "poor fit" on this bezel simply tried skipping on those brackets. Shockingly, Autometer put them in the kit for a reason

But anyways, if you install it with the brackets then it lines up great. Evenly spaced, no gaps, and lines up great around the edge of the OEM cluster.

Hmm,

If you turn up the airconditioner too high, does the guage pop out?

I do agree as well. The bezel does fit very well, but you need to install the PITA brackets to hold it in place firmly. The brackets aren't that bad, but the area where the screws go through them are off. But with a little elbow grease, you can get the screws to go through the aluminum brackets.

My bezel came with all sorts for flash from the molding process. I used a deburring tool to take off the flash and make nice smooth edges around the bezel. Now it looks pretty good. I think if you are only going with 2 gauges, this bezel pod is the one to get. I love mine.

I installed my EGT probe today, and the green bulb condoms today. Here's a few pics, sorry about the quality.
