YES!!! they did a segment on dateline about this. Same refineries but places like chevron and 76 just put additives in the gas.

and costco gas is normally 10-15 cents cheaper than brand names.

I am ashamed to say I was running costco gas for the last few tanks, and when I went to clear my CEL for some other stuff, I came up with a bunch of cyliner missfires. I am going to run 76 for a few tanks to see if it was the gas or there is something else wrong. My car has been running like a champ till I used the Costco stuff (I would get a bobble every once in a while and actually hear the rpms change).

Hopefully that was the problem.

If you are that worried about the gas prices ( I am ) then get a motorcycle or even an electric car

my bike gets like 60mpg, so I think it gas get thats expensive, I will be parking the WRX untill the weekends

For me, paying more for gas > dying

because I'd be a dumb *** on a bike I think

Same with me. Ever since the gas hike, i've been going to safeway. With the 3 cents off to card holders and the already cheaper than other gas station prices, it's still reasonable. Haven't had any problems of the sort, so it seems fine right now.

Also, my friend told me that Costco gas takes all the gas stations within a few mile radius, averages the gas prices, and then charges 10 cents cheaper. So if there's a really cheap/expensive gas station nearby, that can affect their prices.

If it gets to the point where I can't afford the gasoline that my rex requires, I'll either park it or sell it.

I might consider buying a beater with another flat-4 to drive to work - the VW old-school Beetle.

Very true Alan.

When i fill up the tank all that's going through my mind are the following:

1)i could have paid for a Chevy Aveo with my Downpayment.
2) Insurance would have been a lot cheaper :-/
3) I would be getting twice as much mpg.

Then i put ALL 3 of those together and think about how much i could be saving

But you only live once, right?

silly facts....

the US alone consumes the most amount of gas in the world

in the US California consumes the amount of gas

if California was its own country it alone would be the biggest consumer of gas in the world....

edgar,
read that in the news paper a while back.
