So I need to go pick up a new gas cap soon for my rs. Last one I picked up from Kragen a few years ago now has the rubber seal on it drying out and getting tiny cracks in it. This did make me get the evap emissions cel a couple weeks ago.

Any specific brands you guys like or prefer? All I'm looking for is something with a good quality rubber seal and something that seals tightly. The one on my car now doesn't feel very tight even after 3 clicks.

 

call up reninick motorsports and get a oem one, u will keep replacing it if u get the cheap ones.

Why on earth would you call them when local shops have them in stock and they're pretty cheap? Heck, why you'd call Renick of all places to begin with is beyond me.

 

i have had bad luck with the local shops here its just my personal preference, they seem to have all the right parts

because Renick ones are rated at 2hp opposed to Kragen, Napa etc that are only rated at 0.8hp

 

Guess I'll probably go with OEM.

Are there any places local other than the dealerships that would have actual oem caps and not knockoffs? If not I'll probably just order from subaruparts.com

 

You can order online or pick one up local for roughly the same price. Up to you.

 

STANT is the brand of choice for quality,and is the MFG of most OEM caps

I just wanted to get this taken care of and ended up going and picking up a Stant gas cap earlier tonight. I must say it fits wayy better than the other one I had. Definitely a VERY tight seal, so I think I should be good for a while.
