By far one of the best "hidden gems" in the bay area is..

Go to the one in dublin, The chef is 5 star class, the food is incredible, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun.

Why don't you take her to Piatti's in Danville?
It's a nice Italian-style restaurant, good food, not too expensive. If it's not cold out, or raining, sit out on the patio to heat (they have heater lamps, cool lamps that are strung in the air)
Back when I was with you know who, we would go there.
