Yes, PPG is basically the same as the OEM glass. How much are you getting this done for? I know someone who can replace it for about $250.

i just had AAA put in Safe Lite.... the only thing that pisses me off is the cheap *** rear view mirror mount that comes on the windshield... your mirror will never be OEM tight... it doesn't really rattle but it still pisses me off.

I am about to be on my second window replacement... sucks.. I want to strangle trucks that are allowed to drive on the freeway while loosing gravel out the back.

BTW I too use AAA (safelite) and I've yet to have any issue with the mirror mount *knocks on wood*

so whats the deal with suby glass? is it thinner to save weight and therefore cracks easier or what? i have never had a problem with previous cars and i always hear people with subies complaining about the front windshields

I had mine replaced by safelite about a year ago and the spot where the rearview mirror mounts is cracked in the adhesive area. Gonna look at getting that fixed this summer.

The only time I replace windshields is if the crack is directly in front of me. The last two windshields I've replaced have received another chip/crack within a few months

PPG is considered OEM equivalent. Just stay away from SafeLite glass.

Shoot... I spent damn near $500 on a new windshield. I picked up my car. Was driving home from the shop.. painters tape still in place. 20 minutes later. BAM. Rock chip dead center.

My deal with windshields. I won't fix it til' I get a fix it ticket..haaa.
