cant blame nolan that the niners suck. they need to draft more potential playmakers and bring some quality veterans to the team.

my point was that if the niners got a rb that could pose an actual threat it would give smith some breathing room like roethisberger had with bettis and staley and there good defense in pittsburgh

even with a rb, smith sucks. dorsey made more yards in one game than smith made in all of his starts this season. what the niners need is a new team. period.

if smith had protection and a running game he wouldnt have to pass all the time and he wouldnt suck look at kyle orton hes not the greatest but the bears lead theyre division... and the bucs with chris simms he has a defense and running game and he has about the same talent that smith does, and the bucs are still winning.

I agree with you, it was the guy who said thats its Nolans fault and he should be fired I was arguing with. A running back like Reggie Bush, plus some new faces on the O-Line, would make this team decent.

There is a big change from College to the pros, he isnt used to the game speed, or the higher skill level. Do you think Peyton Manning just showed up in Indy and started throwing 80 yard bombs for TD's? Nope, didnt happen that way, it took a few year, and it will take Smith a few years to grow into the potential he has.

Chris Simms has way less potential the Smith does, right now, Simms is a better QB, but wait 3-4 years and then see who is starting for their team and who is on the bench.

if you niner fans can wait 3-4 years for a qb to finally step it up for your team, then have fun waiting. the stealers threw in roethlesberger in his first year and he took them to the playoffs. for anyone to say smith has potential and not to expect him to at least make some completions is pretty ignorant. the rookie can barely make 1st downs. ive seen so many rookies do so. no excuses!

Byron Leftwich was a pretty decent rookie QB. Just recently he's become a friggin' beast.

Eli Manning sucked last year, Carson Palmer sucked until this year, its part of the process. Roethlisberger is so successful becuase he went to a good team, he was not the #1 draft pick overall like Smith was, he has a solid running game to rely on and he only has to throw the ball 20-25 times a game, if the niners could provide that kind of run game to Smith, he would succedd just like Roethlisberger. Its not just one player out there, there are 10 other guys the QB has to work with.

well, looks like the reggie bush bandwagon is headed to san francisco. first draft pick QB and RB would be a good combo if they both ended up playmakers in the NFL.

if thats true... thats some straight up chemistry right there. smith will probably feel more comfortable with him around and get some dirt handled.
