Freakin' ******

Damn ******. My cars got broken into last night. They took my laptop, about 1100 dollars worth of stereo equipment, a lot of my duty gear (second chance vest, gunbelt, etc.) and some other stuff of value from my fiancee's car. Odd thing is, they didn't take our CD collections, and didn't even touch my wallet, which I keep in the car. The thing that pisses me off the most, though, is that I had some gummy Apple-Oh's that they ate, then left the empty bag in my car. Damn ******.

The thing that kills me, is that our three cars were the only cars that got broken into in our apartment complex. It's not like they were parked next to each other either. I was talking with some of my co-workers, and it sounds like a revenge thing. They had our schedules down, since I get home around midnight, and my fiancee leaves for work around 0430, so they knew to hit us around those times. Now I'm periodically checking our cars, ASP baton in hand, ready to throw down some mother *****es. I soooooooooooo hope to catch them red handed.

that really sucks and all and sorry to hear it.

but why do you leave your laptop, wallet, etc in your car overnight? that is just not all that smart.

Well, only 2 are ours, the third we're watching for a friend that went TDY. Worked out great since my 240 blew a head gasket. But now...

I leave my wallet in the car since it's too bulky to carry when I'm duty, and the laptop is usually in the trunk since I watch movies at work on it

/\ thats what I was thinking......my dads car got broken into a few months back, he left his briefcase in the car overnight, which didnt have crap inside it....but it LOOKED like a laptop case, so the @$$wipes busted the windows out and stole an empty briefcase! The worst part is...the replacement window cost more than the case was worth! ****** like that need to be beaten with a friggin torque wrench, handcuffed to the bumper of the car they just broke into, and left overnight, then in the morning, the cops get called to make the arrest. GRRRRRRR </rant>

-Ted

edit: Sorry to hear about your incident.....I hope (and will keep my fingers crossed) that you catch those mother ****ers!

Vacaville. Pretty nice area, too. I was talking to some 'ville PD friends of mine, and they were saying there's a group of people going around all the apartments breaking into cars. Pro's. They know what to take and what to leave, plus they don't break windows to get in.

Oh, and it's not like I was leaving this stuff on the back seat. These items were all in the trunk of the car. Of course, though, the hatchback it's just all sorts of accessible. Accessable. Acessible...wtfever.

You forgot to add the part where after you handcuff them you take them for a little spin around the block.

Be careful - just imagine when you wake up all groggy and **** for work, stumble into the car and say 'oh snap! Apple Ohs!'.
