Just because the car is faster doesn't mean it can't be trailing. The Vettes are really fast on the straights. Not quite as fast in the turns. There is a lot more to a four hour long race that contributes to position - pits, yellows, etc can all change running order. The Corvettes were leading class for a very decent amount of time. Early on there were quite a few yellows and full course cautions that brought out the pace car. People pitted, others didn't. It led to some interesting position changes.
Speaking of fast cars... the Acura P1 is scary fast. That thing had NO problem moving around ANYTHING else on the track.

Truth. Straight line, the Vette has an edge. Saying "the vette is faster, he should just let him by" is what I was taking issues with - it doesn't include any of the other variables.

Even Bergmeister admitted the vette was a little quicker than him at the end.
The funny thing is everyone has their little allegiance thats totally clouding their view. I'm a fan or was of the flying lizard team. I'll admit I don't watch every lemans race, didn't have speedtv till awhile ago. Obviously I didn't know what I was talking about in terms of the standings. I guess I misread things.
I'd like someone to explain to me how it was acceptable, what rule allows you to do something like that?
Did none of you see where they spoke out against that type of driving?

i'm no racing driver, but i think that what happened in the last lap seems just a racing incident. bumping in to someone in the middle of the turn is a douchy move to make but hey its racing. however if u rewatch video as many other people has pointed the Bergmeister actually did give Magnusson room. And yes escorting to someone to the wall is legal, cuz thats Bergmeister's selected line. If i'm not mistaken you're allowed to make one move to defend your line and that was Bergmeister's one move

You can clearly see that the Corvette made the pass and was in front going to the line when the Porsche pitted the Corvette causing him to spin. Yea he bumped him to get the advantage, but really what would the Porsche be losing. They had the championship on lock, he chose to endanger another driver by crashing him to get this last win. Douche bag!!

2)I was racing cars in both IHRA and SCCA before you were old enough to crawl on the floor. I have been in accidents on the track, and I can say this. After watching that video the corvette driver was 80% at fault, and more than likely had he not crashed, would have been black flagged and pushed down in the rankings.
Now, you snot nosed kid, before you open your mouth again, learn who your elders are. Some of us here are a hell of a lot more experienced at both driving and life, than you are.
