Flea Control?

There recently was a break out of these little black bugs that I found out to be fleas at my house. What is the best way to get rid of them? I know some processes take up to 4-8 weeks, but I want these ****ers dead =P. Anyone know the best way to destroy 'em all in the house?

Do you have pets? or are they living off some other hosts? (like rats?)

No pets, I seriously dont know where they came from. The neighbor has a dog around the area, but we haven't had a pet in a long time. Not sure about rats, haven't heard of any in the house in a while.

get a few flea bombs, and pop them off when you leave for work. If you have no pets, then you have no worries. You can also get some sprinkle on flea killing powder, you just sprinkle it into the carpet, let it sit, and then vacuum it up. That should get rid of them, but you should really look for the source, like maybe the neighbors dog, or any plants close to the house could also be bringing them in.
Good luck!

isolate the area where you see them a lot.wash any items laying in the area just in case they cling on it specially with clothes.vacuum it and throw out the bag.theres powder or a carpet spray you can use that works quite well.I use both, powder the carpet wait half a day then vacuum it. then use the carpet spray for extra killing action.

Yea I've never had a problem, just ordered some Ultracide (after doing some research) and figured the spray had good reviews. Kills fast and also stops the eggs from developing. =D

there is this spray u get at petco, it is amazing. it kills fleas and ants. you spray it on, those effers are dead in minutes and so are the eggs.

safe for pets to go on after a vacuuming, and no obnoxious chemical smell. it just smells like pepper, like warm black pepper.

its in a green can and you have to hold it up side down to spray it, i will see if i can find a pic of the product

get a flea job. the initial spray will kill all the adults. and spread an IGR (insect growth regulator). vacuum every 2 days after that. vacuuming will agitate the eggs and force larvae to hatch. the IGR that is laid down already is a residual and will prevent them from moving on up in life (prevent them from being able to get their first blood meal).

flea issue solved.

you most likely got them from just walking around outside. flea hopped on laid some eggs on your leg hairs or socks or something. fell off, etc etc...

follow what the others have said. Most likely you got them from walking outside they can live in grass. Good luck i hate those pests. I have 4 dogs but thankfully never had fleas in my house and or on them once since we have had them and i dont use the flea stuff i would guess i am lucky and chihuahua's have very short hair to no hair lol so that helps. Also living with hardwood floors and leather furniture really help too i guess. Good luck though.

Make sure you empty your vacuum really well after every use (and maybe spray the inside if you don't have a house unit?) to make sure they don't start reproducing in your vacuum.

Are you sure that they are fleas? Last outbreak I had at my house was weevils - they are small black bugs and I thought that they were fleas at first. I went through all the cupboards and I found them living in a bag of flour.

had the same problem as well way back, came from a bad bag of rice.

flea + rat = bubonic plague
and we all know how that story went.

Pretty sure they're fleas. And yea I've started to run outside around the neighborhood for the past month, i guess that's where I tracked one of them. how gay is that =\. I didn't want to drive to the 24hr close by just to run.
