Gah.. I knew it was coming sooner or later. I got one for my tail lights.
But tell you what.. I've been pulled over couple of times and let go. Most of the officers didnt care about the overlays and said long as theyre visible within 500yards you're ok (others might not be so nice). This officer just seemed to be looking for something. Asked me about under my hood as well.. Oh wellll.

I knew I was gettin one sooner or later. I am thinking about picking up some new tails and just tinting them red like ive seen on some sti's. BUT I cant afford that right now. Anybody here know somebody that can sign it off for me? I have 30 days, If i dont get it signed then I assume I get a nice fee. I'd suck it up and take it if i wasnt tight on cash

Dude, just go to get it signed off at night. As long as you do not have the REALLY black tints you should be fine.

could of been that, or 500ft not yards i dont remember. but same here man!

been pulled over twice and only once cop mentioned the tails and said it was ok long as they are visible which he realized as he was pulling me over when i braked lol. they are LEDs they are super bright regardless

The campus police at Foothill College are pretty cool about signing stuff like that off. I can't imagine that stock taillights at a junkyard are THAT expensive

Take it off. That's just asking for to be pulled over.

 

The vehicle code is very clear on what is and is not legal. Look it up, print it out, and take it with you when you go to get it signed off. Those do not look too dark...are they the light or dark smoke?

 

Theyre pretty light smoke i guess.

I had a friend who was gonna have his friend sign it off and when he gave him the ticket he said at the last minute no! Ahhhhhh so close.
