First time ticket... in Milpitas!
I just thought i'd share.
Man oh man do I love Milpitas. I just picked up this UTEC from a friend of mine and I was about to go on the Montague route. The light over by the shell gas station took forever to turn green and there was two cops cars talking to each other over there. They each pull away and my light finally turns green and I make my turn onto the street. One of the cops busts a U-Turn and then slowly catches up and turns on his bright lights and blinds me while I try to move to the side. Then an asian dude came up to me and was asking me "where I came from" and I said "just from a friends house". Then was all "I want to know really why you were out here". My car looking the way it is you could tell he thought I was out just looking for a race. Then he finally seems to believe me and takes my drivers license and all the other info. While he's doing that a white cop dude opens my passenger side door and peaks his head in there and says "we need you to pop open the trunk" and I do and they search through all the junk in my trunk and then close it shut. White guy looks around the car and then after a bit the asian dude comes back saying, "it sucks huh? I got an import myself and all these racers out there give us all a bad name" Then he explains to me that i'm just going to get a fix it ticket for the front license plate. They were cool about it and I was all stupid asking him what do I do with the ticket since its my first ticket ever. But yeah, thats my dangerous and crazy story I had in Milpitas. I still love this place and the cops are still cool in my opinion.
(its late and i'm tired, so ignore the bad grammar)

Next time you should refuse the search, you have a right to if they do not have probable cause. From what you have told us, if you have not left anything out, sounds to me like there was no probable cause for the search in your trunk and that is against the law... I have refused searches before, it ticks the cop off, but is definitely your right.

We need to put together some sort of complaint against the cops over there (Fremont/Milpitas/UC). They are harassing too many people and really violating your rights.
All it takes is some hippy newcaster to get wind of it and it will be on the local news.

I bet it was Sgt. Henry Kwong...wasn't it. That damn geek! I am so glad that I am in VA now, where there are no stupid mod police! And no stupid CARB or smog referees! Only bad thing is that I can't run my 8500 as radar detectors are illegal.
Ha ha ha!
Kwong is an ***. I have a feeling that is who pulled you over wasn't it?

I know they can ask you to pop your hood to check if you have modifications. But the trunk, they need a warrant or be able to prove probable cause. W/ all the stories about REXs being harassed in the area, I'm realy starting to get pissed off. It's one thing if you're street racing or driving stupid, it's another if you're just minding your own business.

The thing is... you have to realize that if you are going to put illegal modifications on your car knowingly, it doesn't matter if you are racing or minding your own business, you pay to play and they are just doing their jobs. You think it's chicken **** to get a "no front plate" fix it ticket? Then put your front plate on... You think it's stupid that you get modified exhaust tickets? Then drive your car stock... Sure, I have illegal parts on my car, and if I get pulled over for them I will accept the consequences. The things I have a problem with is the fact that police seem to focus greatly on the import scene rather than the domestic scene. The first time I've EVER seen a domestic pulled over was last week by CHP for modified exhaust. I just find it very unprofessional for police to take advantage of people by breaking the law themselves (harassment, illegal searches, etc). I am to the breaking point now where if anyone would look to stand with me, I would have no problem filing a complaint with numerous police departments and even contacting a local news reporter... Too bad Michael Finney doesn't deal with issues of this nature, he would unleash a can of media whoop ***...

File one on the Fremont PD harrassing imports. It's true that all imports are targets for PD's in CA. I guess it's another measure they took to make some $$ and still keep their paychecks up with all the cut backs in CA. I could grab a bunch of internal affair forms from the Fremont PD, and just hand 'em out at the meets and stuff, but walkin' in there askin' for like 100+ internal affair forms seems a bit whacked, and I want to avoid being questioned at Fremont PD's headquarters. =P
