I'll PM you some information
I have someone up there who gets good pricing on rooms in the S. Lake Tahoe area...
Last Feb, Sat. night, one night stay, $100 for a place ON THE LAKE (20 ft. of beach between me and the water)...in South Lake Tahoe. Saw Jackson Browne in Caesars that evening.

You guys are trippin. I went to kirkood yesterday, and it was chains required becuase there was at least 3 inches of snow pack on the road, so all cars were being stopped. One guy stopped me becuase I was in a car, not a HUGE SUV, then his fellow worker goes "nono, this is a wrx, let him go"
+1 for rex
As for tahoe... if u r going for snowsports, Kirkwood gets the best snow by far, but squaw is the best area.

That reminds me of when I still had my 2.5RS. Of course back then the only Subarus around were Outbacks. I was headed to Kirkwood from South Lake and the chain control stopped me. He looked at my car for about 30 seconds and asked if I had quattro or something. I told him my car was AWD and it's a Subaru. His reply - "Oh, it's a Subaru! Go right ahead." It was almost like being in one of those old school subaru commercials.
Tahoeturbo - Thanks for all the info. You rock man!

if it's not a holiday weekend you can usually find deals on rooms at the casinos in south lake tahoe. ceaser's, harvey's, harrah's are all decent. staying in south lake gives you loads of choices for restaurants and some nightlife, not to mention gambling.
best bet for resorts is either kirkwood or sierra-at-tahoe. avoid heavenly at all costs!

Sierra at tahoe is probably one of the worst places ever.....snow is icy as a motha****a and it's crowded and sucks... i know from experience i had a pass there back in the day.
Kirkwood owns every other place in tahoe (sb is cool), i don't want to ardue with anyone as i know this to be a FACT!
Powder+Massive Terrain=Ownage
So i got a question for you,
When i'm sparking my blunt(s) on the mountain as i so often do, if i am on the neveda side of the slope, can i get taken to jail??? Even if it's some ronic?

hey
sorry slow, but squaw is biger and better than kirkwood. yeah kw has a higher base, but you simply ant beat squaw for the terrian and sheer size of the skiale acerage. i lied there for 6 years and have skied everywhere in tahoe. i certainly understand how you got your opinion. i think kw is an awesome resort.
BUT, they don't call it "squallywood" for nuthin.
i live in truckee and have a pass at sugar if anyone ever wants to ride.....

I got a pass to kirk/SB so we could roll to SB.
sugar bowl/kirkwood on sat!!! who's down?
as of now, it looks like it's sugar bowl for sat. i wanna hook up some n00bs w/ the $20 deal this weekend!
but, if the 2 rookies don't want lessons & have access to gear(they've both been at least once already) we may hit up kirkwood instead.
in either case, i'm looking to meet up w/ any other high int./adv. boarders/skiers for a fun & chill day on the slopes!
