It finally happened :(

First accident. Walking back to the parking lot after finishing watching my girlfriend's sisters dance performance, watched as a Honda Odyssey equipped with an asian mom back up slowly into my front bumper.

At first she stopped about 2 feet away, then continued to back up until she was a little less than a foot away. At this time I was about 10, maybe 15 steps away from my car, I assumed she knew that it was too close and seeing as how she had more than enough space in front, I turned around to say something to my girlfriends parents.

Then I heard my girlfriend yell STOP, STOP, and turned around just in time to see the back of the van make contact with my poor front bumper. In all honesty, the accident isn't too bad, the scratches and tiny dents are clearly visible, but I doubt it would be very expensive. Watching it happen was one of the most painful things ever though

This happen to anyone before?

Thinking about getting a new front bumper, didn't like mine very much since it was cut out for a front mount anyways. Anyone know how those are, or know any good body shops preferably near San Jose?

That's not a first accident that's just a crappy driver.

Glad you saw it and can get it fixed

just because it only shows minor surface scratches, underneath, the actual foam material may have been damaged.

i suggest you get a qualified shop to take a look UNDER the bumper cover to make sure...

that sucks. imagine what its like to walk to find an empty parking spot with your car stolen. thats the worst especially going out to the tow yard to see it stripped.

i wished someone would back into my car so i can get a new front end haha.

You're right. I did a double check, and the plastic around my grill is cracked as well. When she hit it, my front bumper basically bent up, because it was so flexible, which I'm guessing caused further damage that I didn't notice on first glance.

definitely much worse. I've heard multiple accounts of horrible car thefts and strips.

Sigh but this lady didn't even realize she was backing up further and further until my girlfriend started banging on her window. Clueless much?

It will be interesting to find out what the cost of the damage is and if it will be enough to replace the front like you were wanting to to get rid of the cutout from the FMIC. Hope it works to your benefit! It sucks when your car gets in an accident, but at least you seen it so it didn't turn out to be a hit and run...
