Yes, I do understand that it was nearly identical and it was crappy to copy the format instead of making your own table, but the content itself is just a list of what gets done at certain service intervals on a Subaru. EVERYBODY does the same things because that's what Subaru says you're supposed to do. It's in your owner's manual. It's on Subaru's site: http://www.subaru.com/owners/schedul...2004myfed.html

Yes, it was copied with only minor changes. But it's not the equivalent of stealing somebody's unique product (a technical or opinion article, a cookie recipe, etc). It's simply a write up of public information. It's a list of items/services as required by Subaru.

At least that's how I see it. Would I still have been mad and would I have done something about it? YES! Damn straight. It would have been a PM/e-mail or a phone call to tell them to get off their lazy asses and make their own damn table. I'd have to be really, really pissed to actually make a direct attempt to harm another person's living.

I would think to leave the thread, but just delete the **** talking in it...
Maybe they decided that the entire thread, including the opening post and the title, were **** talking.

It's a privately-owned forum. The owner/admin/mods can do whatever the heck they please. My swear words turn into **** and I can't sue because of 1st amendment infringement. It's a privately-owned forum and everything you post is subject to the censure of the owners as they see fit...

This all comes down to FIA being a paying vendor and them complaining.

Public knowledge of FIA copying LIC website = bad image for FIA.

The public SHOULD know what happened.

and i have absolutely nothing against your opinion. But I think that's the great thing about a forum like this, people are able to deal with problems in whatever fashion they please, be it a quiet PM, a post like his, or an all out call out like I probably would've done (= (most know how I roll)

IMO, the entire thread was emotional and aggressive from the onset. It makes sense that LIC was angry and that showed in the post, but I think the opportunity to explain what had happened now that the issue is resolved and heads have cooled would be a better way to go. It will make for a more clear explanation of the issue.

true that, and although the original thread was "moveted", we still have this one referencing it without all the gheyness

I'm in management with a corporation. And...much to the surprise of many...this isn't a corporation. People need to understand the consequences of their actions. And although the CEO may not know the action, they should know the consequences of hiring someone who may have the ability to do that. Just like the "internet coordinator" should know the consequences to plagiarizing someone elses work. People need to understand that this is the consequence of certain actions on the internet, getting called out on it.

And just like it's your decision as to whether or not you delete the thread (be it because you don't like drama, you are personal friends with the owners of FIA, they have always done great work to your car, etc.), we have the privilege of posting and talking about it on this board.

Have a good day.

hey mate, not trying to argue here, but since you work in management in a corporation, you'd know that no matter how hard you try to keep tabs on everyone, something gets slipped through the crack and someone you manage somehow will botch something up that is outside any control or procedures. I agree that the owner will take responsibility (which I believe FIA has), but I suppose that's my point. You can't control everyone and everything and things go awry no matter how careful you are.

for sure, and I feel you on that, however one must make the utmost priority of hiring people who will not A) do that or B) hire people that would do that...

see, only thing that pissed me off is FIA came in trying to fight back. I would've come in, said hey, sorry we ripped off your ****, I'll change it and make sure it doesn't happen again.

Instead they come in there critizing noah and the good guys at LIC, and I think that is where the drama started.
