$10k is a good price...
You do know that the dealer won't give you ANYWHERE NEAR that price, right? You're lucky if they give you $6,000 for your car, and thats if you're lucky. I'd recommend waiting a little longer then a day as it will save you a ton of cash in the long run...
Anyone who works for a dealer or knows how this works will vouch for me here.
The dealer needs to buy the car at a price to where they can sell it and make a huge profit. They are not going to bother making a small profit by buying your car for 10k and selling it for $11k, they just wont do it. They will however buy your car for $6k or less and sell it for $11k, thats how it works.

I'm not a fan of Mercedes AT ALL, but I suppose an AMG model is better then the average benz.
I'm not talking blindly out of my *** either, I speak from 12 years and 3 cars worth of experience, however none of them were AMG models so I guess I can't talk much, but it's like comparing a WRX to an WRX STi, and still both are Subarus and share many of the same parts, much like a regular benz shares very many similarities with an AMG model.
I'm curious what made you decide on a benz over a bimmer of equal caliber (price). I'd MUCH rather drive a M3 if I had a choice. Both have luxury features, but that's where the similarities end and the M3 takes over and kicks the crap out of the benz in every other category, especially if you want performance. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you only get the benz in automatic? That says a lot about a car that is supposed to be a performance car. (And no, it's not the same type of automatic that super cars have so you cant compare the two)

As much as I love EVOs, if he's in the market for something with luxury the EVO is NOT the right choice... Hell, and EVO makes an STi look like a luxury car! (which is fine for some, but not for someone looking into a benz)
