How is Far 9/11 unpatriotic or anarchistic? It seems to be the opposite of those labels.

Good question, why think?- especially when you can tune in to Fox News and have Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity think for you!

freedom of speech, right?
It is always nice to see the other side instead of what we're fed.

I really don't think the congressmen and G.W. Bush were actors.

Your being fed this BS from Michael Moore. All of the media is biased one way or the other it just depends on what you tune in to. My only problem with people like Michael Moore is because they are "celebrity" they think this makes them so-called experts on a certain political topic. I don't give a rats *** what Tim Robbins thinks or Michael Moore or Bill O'reilly or any celebrity for that matter right or left wing. I form my own opinions based on what I have learned from watching both sides of the media.

1. The basis for this war was not right or unjust because there haven't been any weapons of mass destruction. On the other side I see that this will eventually be a good thing for the Iraqi people because Saddam was a sadistic evil man that liked to torture and kill his own people. We are there now and we cannot abandon the people like we did in the first war. Whats done is done and while I don't agree with how it was done I do think we need to be there NOW and finish the job (and I have the utmost respect and admiration for the people that are over there doing it. Truly heroes in this world of Hollywood built fake stars and heroes)

2. I think that Assault rifles are bad and that no normal citizen has any need to have an assault rifle. I do believe in the basic right to bear arms and for me that means I own a handgun and a few rifles/shotguns. (I live in michigan and I hunt but usually with a bow)

A little off-topic here - I grew up around guns, my father took me rabbit and small game hunting when I was little so I knew about the dangers early. I believe this is the best way to educate your kids about them. If you own them you have to tell the kids about them. You cannot let them find them for themselves. I will be teaching my children about the dangers of them and I will also be teaching them how to use them and teaching them respect for them - oh and I will also be keeping them locked up at all times but that is common sense!

3. I think the Patriot Act is very close to infringing on our civil rights as US citizens and I don't agree with it.

I formed all those opinions by listening to both sides of the story and then making a judgement based on what I had learned. Believe me when I say that Michael Moore can Spin it any way he wants to now and there will be people who follow it like the gospel. Take it for what it is. A piece of hollywood cake (lots of fluff) that is being spoonfed to people who will eat it right up. Just like the Bill O'Reilly's and Hannintys of the world. Think for yourselves people.

Ah, a good political argument to start the day is great!

IIRC, Bowling For Columbine was also a "documentary" although it's been proven the footage was taken out of context, and the so-called facts skewed. Many bystandards within the film and other Moore plot(s) tell a much different story on how Moore took them for granted. Basically, he's a salesman and con artist that paints a perfect picture for the tinfoil hat crew. Nothing moore... <--- get it? myjokesaresolame...

Yes he has First Amendment rights like everyone else but his films are taken out of context the very same way Daily Show with John Stewart does. I'm sure I could paint a believable mural in that same manner with editing and a persuasive tongue, don't you? Not to mention, his opinions in these "documentaries" probably qualify as legal slander which is tasteless in my opinion.

I'm NOT taking the conservative view here either! If Moore told the truth for once on the liberal side i'd probably watch it and give a standing ovation based on reasearch and facts. The Palme d'Or was given to him based on the quality of the film, not the bull**** politics involved and Tarantino addresses this clearly. He suggests that the other movies were so bad that Moore's Farenheit 9/11 was the best choice of a bad lot.

Eventhough the Palme d'Or has been given to a few worthy films like Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now and Pulp Fiction, the essential criteria for the Palme d'Or is just another way to allow the movie industry types, products of possibly the shallowest industry on earth, to feel smugly superior to the people who pay for their lifestyles.

On that note, when was the last time this hypocrite gave some of his wealth to charity? Yet he has the nerve to question politicians on how they make money? Please.... His wallet is probably just as dirty based on all his fabricated melarky he spews. He's feeding on his follwers' minds and wallets afterall... what a great business concept! Who's to say if Moore actually believes himself for that matter? Like i said, he's a great salesman in the end and laughing all the way to the bank.

Overall, it's easy to stand by your friends or country in good times. True friends and patriots stand beside them during bad. Regardless, i'll just sit back and laugh at some of you that take the bait and line his pockets. In a short time we will be reading about how he had a heart attack, or choked on a Ding Dong anyway so whatever.

I'd be mad at the conservative politicians with supermodel hookers too if I had a wife that appears to have been hit with a bag full of hot doorknobs...

Verc... sage thoughts. I dont fully agree, but I feel that he makes movies to stoke the flames of hate and intolerance (I hate Bush so let's burn him on a stake mentality) rather than crusade against social injustices.

btw i would hold judgement on the movie until you see it, from what i udnerstand it is painted with a much more independent brush then BFC.

just a heads up from what i have read and seen on the movie.

i hope... in BFC Moore made some editing decisions that greatly eroded from the credibility of the film as a whole.

bummer too, cause the message could have been very strong

I certainly won't pay to watch this film *see post above for reason's*. If anything i'll get a copy of the script and read it once it's on the web.

Btw Aar errr Sighborg, kudos for making my point appear stronger by blindly categorizing me once again! This seems to be a trend on your part and i'm quite flattered to say the least. Next time I post my opinion(s) i'll PM you to make me look better. In other news, it was nice of you to call me a "self righteous ***" then agree with me. :baffled:

tia, Eric.
