Anyone going this weekend? I have friends who are running portions of it, so I'm just gonna pop in and say hi for a few hours in the later evening tonight and tomorrow night. I was just wondering if anyone here is going too. Ya'll got plans? What are you guys looking forward to in this South Bay Otaku Nerd Fest?

My buddy is there right now I believe. Spending all day there today lol.

 

was there yesterday all day. Also went to watch cosplay performances since I had front seating for Press. Might be there again later and/or tomorrow.

Wow, really? They started chanting that before I even began attending Fanime Con. I learned about it during the masquerade performance in 1999 (the first Fanime Con I went to). I spent most of my time getting in late in the day, strolling around, then drinking at my friends' rooms.

 

I was selling at the swap meet friday night. Tried to sell thursday night but needed a badge. Did pretty good though, friend and I made up most of our (mostly mine) weekend expenses.

Frickin valet at the hilton kept parking my car in the front entrance, every morning I had to wipe off hand prints all over No tip from me. At least with it sitting out front like that I knew nobody was out joyriding in it.

 

Anyone see the person who cosplayed as Bumblebee from Transformers? I heard it was a pretty sick costume.

 

I went. And im mad i wasted $60. They cut the asian films to 1 room. Thats all i even watch there.

 

I was there as usual walkin around with my megaphone. Also saw Ave in the service elevator as I was leaving VIP style.

i am SOOOO glad this weekend is over, fanime kids killed me.

 

They sure got strict about the badges this year, had to have one for practically everything. Previous years, it was pretty much just for getting in to the dealers room, which imo was retarded, spending money to spend even more money for crap that could easily be bought from online stores/ebay for cheaper. Now its like, trying to walk in through the entrance of the convention center, badge please? wtf...

A cool thing happened to me at fanime. I was walking around the exhibit and a really cool chick stopped me. she asked me if I worked at Subaru. I said yes, and she gave me a free t-shirt(gundam seed) as a thanks for helping her and her boyfriend out. I was really shocked. Thanks.

Yep, my buddy showed me the pics of the bumble bee guy last night. Truly the most incredible attention to detail of any costume.

 

One of the housekeeping guys on the 18th let a ton of us in and a few more got on on like the 15th.
