Famed anime director Kon Satoshi dead at 47

Sad news indeed. He was the director of such works as "Tokyo Godfathers" and "Paprika", which dealt with delving into people's dreams before "Inception" came out. He will be sorely missed.

That's sad to hear. I've seen some of the anime he directed.

It is. Guy was a genius. Surprised that not too many people on i-Club care. I know there are lots of self-avowed anime fans and "otaku" on the boards, so I guess that means they don't have good enough taste in anime.

Indeed! In regards to Kon's work, to cop an old hip hop phrase: "Every joint was butter!"

Not to mention that he never forgot that the key to a good story, no matter how trippy, was the element of humanity and human kindness.

His work stretches back to the early '90s; definitely check it out! It's well worth the time!

That's definitely a modern classic. Was waiting for what his next project would be.
