What about them? Read what I said. Doing dumb **** to be "different" is retarded.
Modifying your car to be a hazard on the road is not a hobby. It's just plain stupid. Just like going catless or revving like an idiot is not a hobby and is plain stupid. I do not see your point, nor how you're trying to connect your different ideas.
I'm not sure how running catless, driving like a dick, or revving has anything to do with being different. (In fact, I'd say driving like a dick is common)
I will not respect a car that is putting other peoples' lives in danger and I never will. People can try to make themselves feel better by saying "h4t3rz g0nna h4te" or whatever stupid **** people say. However, the fact remains that a person would endanger other peoples' lives just so they can look different. I have no clue how anyone in their right mind can advocate for that.

Where I think we misunderstand each other is that I don't think these car enthusiasts are trying to be different. Rather, I think they're trying to fit in. They want to be slammed and hellaflush like their friends. They mod their cars to get praise from people they want respect from.
That's why I brought up mods Subi drivers often buy to fit in, and make their cars faster.
I agree with you on the point of modding a car to be unsafe isn't acceptable. But there are owners in any car community that will do this, and subarus are no exception.
I'm not saying stupid driving is isolated to subi drivers, there are threads on here that hate on bmw, tesla, prius, g35, evo etc. Fact of the matter is there are tons of ******* subi drivers. Especially when it comes to the WRX or STi platforms. I've seen people on this forum even justify ******* actions and get commended.
I bring up this point because as a community there are *******s and people who do unreasonable things. I was simply bringing to light that subaru drivers are not excluded. And some of us are seen as being *******s by other car communities. I just hope that by saying this some of the people on this forum look in the mirror to see whether or not they're modding their cars to fit in, do what's popular, and other things that might be seen as ridiculous in the eyes of other car communities.

I can't assume is that people drive these cars on the daily, or at that height on the daily. That they aren't sitting in a garage, or lowered before the meet.

Ps...who the f buys a catless dp to fit in? There only one reason for catless downpipes and that's to make more power. ..definition of function over form whereas herrafrush is all about form over function. Not even close to being comparable.
Pps...I have a stock downpipe still but I'm not butthurt about not fitting in and being internet famous like all the cool kids haaaa

Just bag it if hellfrush is what you're after. I don't give a **** what you do to your car but I can see evo and baliztiks pov. Would really suck to be on a bike and have a bumper coming at you.

I would love if CA had a not as extreme version of Japan's shaken (pronounced shah-ken) instead of just a basic smog check. It would cost a little more, but would reduce traffic by keeping ill-kept vehicles off the road and not breaking down in the middle of it. Not to mention remove people from the road who have no idea how to maintain a car. My front plate and front bumper are proof of how much **** I've had to deal with of crap flying off peoples' cars.
