Question F&R Swaybars and rear endlinks - local help?

Hey, I curious if anyone would be kind enough to help me install my front and rear sway bars w/ rear endlinks on my 06; they are cobb. I understand if no one wants to help :P but I don't have the propper tools or a good jack, and I don't want to mess anything up or get stuck half way through it. I definately want to work but...I think I would need a little guidance and I would love to have it from someone that knows what they are doing and genuinely enjoys spending their time working on subies . Thanks in advance guys!

haha...

Ok so smitty and I had some issues, and now I am currently in this guy's garage in concord getting them put on. We would have had everything fine, but cobb has some damn wierd mounts, for those of you who have cobb bars, the big black ones. We just could NOT get this one screw to line up properly. Anyway, I drove down without a rear sway (that was fun) and now I am getting it on for a good deal. . Btw my hands were fricken black. nice. Smitty took off his shirt cus it was teh Fuhcked .

dude, you should have use a pair of ramps instead of jacking your car up to install the bars. It will make lining up everything 10x easier.

Well it was jacked up and resting on stands - we didn't have any ramps to use, otheriwse we would have.

the front cobb bar is a lot easier to put on. the rear requires taking off that stupid charcoal box.

Once they are on though, it is well worth it.

Taking off the charcoal box and getting bolts lined up in there was impossible....i mean two of us were working on it and it just was not happening no matter what.

That is the problem. You need the suspension under load -- i.e. not resting on stands and not jacked up.

If you dont have ramps, just park on a driveway at an angle and scoot yourself under the car. There isnt much room under there working on your back (trust me, I know ) but thats how I did it. Good luck!

Yup - you need the suspension loaded.

And you can do the RSB without removing the charcoal box, but its PITA.

You can replace a swaybar with the charcoal box in, but not with the kit he got. He has Cobb's swaybar kit, which included swapping out the swaybar mounts, so yes, we did haveto take it out, there's no other way.

As for being under load, we had it up on jackstands and under load...we know better than that, or else we wouldn't have been able to get the existing swaybar out. The problem we had was installing Cobb's swaybar mounts. The drivers side went in easy, but the passenger side we had a very hard time lining it up with other things behind the charcoal box.

If you had it on jack stands then you definately didn't have it under load. The wheels need to be at ride hide and under ride load in order to get the swaybar seated properly (thats why someone recomended doing it on the driveway or using ramps).
