Sliders was cool but got really weird at the end with dinosaurs and stuff.

Nah, they didn't go back in time. The sliding machine isn't capable of time travel, it is only capable of parallel universe travel within a certain radius. They happened to slide into a place that had a dinosaur reservation.

Season 5 was the worst though... no more original Quinn Mallory, really bad story line, etc.
