Exhaust Party :) My quest for the perfect exhaust setup.

Hey guys

What upp. My names Derrick, and I'm on a quest to find my perfect exhaust (now that I finally have some money saved up). I was hoping some of you guys in the bay area wouldn't mind meeting up with me to show me your exhaust setups/cars. My plan is to hear exhaust setups in person (youtube is nice but you really don't get the real experience) I think it would be pretty cool. I'm currently running a cobb TBE setup, and i've ran with a greddy ti-c which i'm currently trying to sell. Both were great but i kind of want to explore the world of exhausts. I'm hopefully looking for something that makes the subby rumble more distinct or louder.

Right now, I'm interested in the invidia g200, tanabe g concept blue, blitz nur spec RX (not R, too loud =]), but really i'm open to any other exhaust setup that you think is sweet. Throw me a PM if you want to, and we can meet up and I can take you to get some grub and we can check out your setup. I live in Lafayette...on the edge of Pleasant Hill. (east bay). Thanks a bunch.

Derrick

Adding an Uppipe and changing out the header will also help you accomplish the goal you are looking for.

i'll definitely be glad to help you out, perhaps you can attend a local meet, i usually goto one when there is one, either treasure island or one in pleasant hill (coco meet).

i have crucial racing turbo back system with high flow cat and its loouud but sounds great, its got a very low deep sound. down pipe comes coated and the silencer makes a huge difference in muting the sound.

http://www.crucialracing.com/products/turboblack.php

it says sold out. i paid 950 w/ high flow cat and shipping.

Really...I don't know too much (/anything =]) about uppipes...ill look it up, but how do uppipes usually change the sound? and what kind of effects do they have on performance? I'll also read up into headers. Thanks

The uppipe will help increase the spool of your turbo, add hp, and free up some room for some more noise.

So will the header.

you already have a catless uppipe and im not sure if adding an aftermarket uppipe would make a difference...

a header would do the trick...equal length (EL) gets rid of the boxer rumble so try to stay away from those if you want the boxer sound...get an unequal length header (UEL)...and for more cool noise get an ewg setup

just spend some time on youtube and make sure to see all the parts they have...

i have a borla hush catback so i wouldnt be of much help, however, a borla hush with a catless setup is a lot louder...

Replacing the stock catless uppipe with an aftermarket one that has a bigger ID will in fact help.
