Exhaust/Muffler shop?

anyone know of a reputable exhaust/muffler shop that can install my up and down pipes? I'll also probably need a custom mid-pipe too. Anywhere from San Jose to San Francisco is OK.

I thought it was going to be simple but most places won't take this stuff out anymore since it deletes the cats, which are illegal apparently.

so if anyone knows a place, please refer me. thanks!

Drive north, dchoi. North to Novato, the De Long exit, turn left, go over the freeway. Turn right at the first traffic light, then follow the road. After you pass Novato Lumber, look to the left for LIC Motorsports.
There you will find what you seek. Reputable - check. Install up/downpipes - check. Custom mid-pipe? Why would you need a custom midpipe? They have exhaust systems there...

oh, and they're not nearly as far away as San Jose.

I had to get a custom midpipe because the muffler I had was a different length than stock. And the downpipe and muffler didnt quite fit. So I took my midpipe off, took it to a muffler shop and had them cut it and weld about 4" of pipe in there to make it fit. All for $20

this is the exact reason why I need to get a custom midpipe. I already have the muffler portion.

Bommey Cheng in Oakland East 14th. They DO everything, as far as doing the install for the up-pipe and downpipe. Take that to a suby shop first. For the midpipe getting custom done, do that at Bommey Cheng.

Why not? We all know that Oakland muffler shops are leaders in innovation, paving the way to exotic new performance exhaust modifications... like whistle tips!

I don't think there are any muffler shops that will do uppipes at least. Downpipes for sure, but uppipes need to take out the turbo, lift the motor or beat the heck outta the stock uppipe to get it out. That's a lot of work. At least a few shops I've tried didn't want to attempt it, so I ended up taking it out myself. It's really not that hard. Time consuming, but not that hard. If you didn't want to attempt it, I would definitely take it to a suby specific shop. They can probably knock it out in an hour.
