Sorry Andy, EVOs don't come with a coupon for a free jar of "Naval Jelly".
There is no legitimate excuse for this shoddy craftsmanship.
Go get 'em, BADEVO...

It is clearly obvious to me why the Evo is rusting where it is. The JDM car does not get the bumper beam (5MPH). In an adaptation to conform to US DOT standards, they had to add that pig of a bumper beam to the Evo. It appears that they clearly did not plan it out properly, and that the piece is being bolted on there before it has cured. The above stated cause, coupled with "bi-metalic corrosion" is what is causing then to rust so quickly.
A wire brush, piece of sandpaper, and some rust-o-leum primer will fix that promlem in about 2 seconds. Top the forestated combonation with some silver touch-up paint, and you are as good as new.
Take it from me, a Navy man...corrosion protection is one of our primary jobs...unfortunately! lol! I freaking hate chiping and painting the damn ships...
Peace!

as for trannies you have to expect them to break at these power levels.
as for glass wrx trannies i think you should look behind the wheel at the retards driving them.

ESX's wrx that runs 9's or 10s (honestly i don't care, wrx wasn't designed for drag in the first place) is using NAAAAWWWWSSSS.. r u running at 9s? are you at 10s? are you even in the 11's, let see some slips.
And I guarantee you that there will be an EVO in 11's or even 10s without using NAAAWWWSSS. Dave Buschur will have that done soon or later. He's done it w/ the 4g63 days before EVO. So I don't think why it isn't possible without using NOS. But again, I don't really give a flying **** about drag racing. I'd rather have my car on the road course than blasting down 1320s.
and as for trannies, yeah tranny components will break no matter what. But I am certain that stock EVO tranny is much stronger than stock wrx tranny.
and as for them retards behind the wheels, are you calling just about everyone driving wrx retarded?
hmm let see.. just to name a few..Bill, Chris, Andy, Alex, and Gary at Gruppe-S (the car is almost new and the 2nd gear is already BUSTED), oh and even Shiv! damn..just about everyone on I-club (including me) had experienced the shhhiiiittty trannies Subaru offered for us.. lol i thought if you don't break wrx trannies, the car's never been driven?

Can't we just get along?
We should all be glad to have these cars here. Anything man-made can and will break. Look at the Titanic.
I love both cars, hell anything that's fast and handles well. I even get jokes about my Trans Am, but it's fast and handles great for old technology.
We can't let our egos get in the way............too bad dueling is illegal

IMO, the WRX tranny is sufficient at stock power levels, and perhaps enough for even a VS2 car. i know i've beaten the living hell out of the trannies in both my WRXs, not waiting for the synchros to match (sometimes), you name it, and i drive my cars hard every time i get in them. i also try to be easy on the synchros and gears when i can, but i have to admit, i've got no qualms about the trannies in either of the WRXs i've owned. and yes the other WRX i speak of is the one i drove off a cliff. but i bet the tranny still works fine.
oh yeah and you better watch out, al might come on here and smack us all around with his 27 inch dick and 13.5 pound nuts. lol
