Ever leave your car at Oak. Airport?
Ever leave your car at Oak. Airport?
The owner of my store is sending me to the Ace convention in Vegas this week (YESSSS!) and he flys down a day before me with another manager and he wants me to take my car and leave it for 2 days so we can take it back.
I've never been to Oakland Airport, I always fly out of SFO, should I even be nervous? I keep telling myself that its a freaking airport and has to be safe to leave your vehicle and that I just have a Northern Sonoma County view of Oakland stuck in my head...

Yeah, worry not, your car shall be safe. Just make sure you don't leave anything visible. I would say that if you left your car anywhere for two days though.

you should be ok. the parking is right in the middle of the huge circle you go around. its not hidden off somewhere so i wouldnt worry.
just dont have anything, not even a quarter visible, and you should be fine.

If i were in your situation, i would just leave my doors unlocked.
Dont leave anything in your car.
I actually have a note that says i've been robbed before and i know better than to leave stuff in my car.
Or since my car is a mess 1/2 the time, leave all you compartments opened and disheveled and the thief will assume it's already been picked over lol

for the first time in my life i might agree with kyle on one thing he said.
leave the doors unlocked, not that i would do it but its kind of a good idea.
at least then they wont bust any of your windows, and they wont try to peel the window back to reach in and jack the door all up. as long as nothing was in there you might be good.

You are fine if you use airport parking that's near the terminals. Parking that's off site is more questionable. I have flown out of there many times without incidents, but my boss had his car broken into when he used cheap long term off site parking.

The only reason i lock my doors is so some crazy crackhead doesnt decide he's gonna sleep in there...otherwise most thiefs know how to pull the window back.
I can do it in 15 seconds with a rubber door wedge and yard stick! Yeah i lock my keys in the car quite often.

Don't y'all know that crackheads can't read?? Sorry that bucolic Northern Sonoma county has you in fear of leaving your car anywhere in Oakland, haha.
That being said, I've left my WRX in the airport lot a handful of times for a day or two since I've had it, no problems. I don't ever recall seeing any broken glass in the lot from people getting their car broken into. As always, hide your valuables, park under a big light in a spot that's easy to see but hard to hide. And of course lock your car!

I leave my car there all the time. In the PCA, I think thats the company's name, lot on Pardee. Never had a problem there and I believe there is someone in the booths 24/7.

I use park and fly I think 16$ per day so for a day trip for you it will be cheaper than the 20$ they charge. They give you a ride to the airport and when you get back just call them when you land and they will meet you at the terminal. I usually leave for like 10 days at a time but my company pics up the bill and I dont bring the subie.
+1/10,000 lol

Good to know my car will be safe...NOW BRING ON VEGAS! The owner told me all the money I needed to bring was for any gambling I wanted to do or souvenirs I wanted to bring back. But I heard "You only need to bring money for clubs and excessive amounts of alcohol"
