I have to say, Christian Bale in Equilibrium gives me goose bumps just thinking about it... It was shot in low budget, but they did such a fantasic job that its not even funny. It ranks up on my top 5 list.

I would have to go with Equilibrium as well... although the matrix trilogy is pretty epic they should have left it with just the first movie...

Equilibrium by a mile. I only thought the first Matrix movie was alright because I had so low expectations for it. Then the series just got more and more retarded....seriously one of the worst trilogies ever.

There needs to be an option for peeps that have never seen Equilibrium.

I don't know why Matrix 2 and 3 where so bad...but they definately pissed me off...not nearly as bad as what the bastards did with Starship Troopers, but still bad. Talk about a movie with potential going right into the ****ter.

I'll have to checkout Equilibrium though I guess.

I didn't like equilibrium due to the fact that i did not like the plot but other wise the movie was ok.

 

What?! The plot was classic Dystopian future man, like Brave New World, 1984, V for Vendetta, etc. Way better than the one-pill-two-pill-red-pill-blue-pill nonsense that served as the "plot" for the Matrix.

To be honest I loved both movies. Equilibrium and the first matrix movie.
Both had a great plot.

Matrix 2 and 3 on the other hand..... yuck

I actually didn't like Equilibrium - it wasn't very clear to me the message they were trying to get across beyond the heavy handed one. If there was nothing beyond that 1 message, then it still wasn't very good as it was very one dimensional in that case.
