I don't see what "sooooo" bad he should have not hit her in the face but she was fighting with the cop and you can easily see that. Cops can use a punch to subdue a persons.

LOL super smash bros. FTFMW!

That video was funny IMO.

All this racist mumbo jumbo is lame. Honestly, how dumb do you have to be to jump in front of an officer trying to make an arrest and PUSH him. WTF? People these days.

Holy **** if anything she got off easy with just a punch to the face! I know if I did that to an officer it would be Gam3 Ov3R (even b4 being prosecuted) for me

Ya, that's true. I wonder if she would have preferred to have been tazed? Wouldn't that look good on video! People probably still would have gotten their panties in a bunch over this no matter what.

I saw that show and was hella sad the cop treated him that way. If he didn't believe him he should have gone up with the guy to see he was telling the truth.

lol all my friends that are in law enforcement say that they will first ask you to follow an order. If that fails, they will tell you to follow an order. If even that fails then they will MAKE you follow the order.

However, when a person makes an aggressive move on them, they will act with swiftness.
there's been several videos where people have been treated unfairly...this one is not the case. however I'm glad it happened. more entertainment for the rest of us

edit:

omfg nubian kang's posts are making me crack up

It's not "discouraged", but for most agencies it's not taught either. But the wording is a gray area...something like "any means of reasonable force neccessary to effect the arrest". Reasonable being the key word.

If the Seattle officer's force is ruled "reasonable", he'll probably not get into any real trouble. Being that it is Seattle though, his Chief will probably tell him "hey, you did the right thing, but we are gonna suspend you for 2 weeks so the media/public stays off our back...okay?"

I woulda used my OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) spray instead of going hands on. It looks less "aggressive" to the public and it hurts a whole lot more for a pretty long fuggin time! I'd rather be pummeled in the face for a few seconds than get hit in the face with a 2-3 second burst of 10% OC spray.

Yeah all the cop had to do was ask for the guys ID and let him go in the hospital. Wrote all the tickets you want.

LOL gotcha. I'm not law enforcement expert, but I could've sworn I've heard that LEO's are encouraged to go for a takedown instead of facepunching -- looks less "violent" and puts the perp in a bad position. Of course, easier said than done sometimes
