EQ Tuning Track Day 2 : SOME VIDEOS
Took some video of my first time on a track with EQ Tuning at Thunderhill on June 1st.
I saw a LOT of cameras out there! Feel free to dump your vids in here! (They cannot be worse than mine LOL.) This is the first time shooting from a car. I used an 8yo miniDV cam on a Delkin Mount. Next time I'll do a few things differently.
But I had fun shooting this and figuring it out. ENJOY
1: Morning Session - Couple of good laps then get behind yellow Corvette and Grey 350Z

2. Continuation of Above Session - Following yellow Corvette and Grey 350Z for a bit then some interesting action over the eagles nest and a really quick caution on Turn 9 for a spinout.

3. Afternoon Sessions - Warmup lap and "warmer" lap. Followed a DGM '10 STi for a bit.

4. Last Session of the day for me - Followed an awesome blue RS then got behind Travis' 04WRX for a "cool down" lap

We're seriously considering doing another track day this year, but it may end up being a bit later in the year since our baby is due in early July. Its always a lot of fun though, so I'm sure we'll set another one up!

A handful of us who are more experienced on the track always offer instruction to the beginner classes. Its not quite as comprehensive as you get with places like Hooked On Driving, but if you want instruction and a ride-along, you can always get it.

Last year was my first actual track day in a car. Us noobs went to an indoor area where a track worker went over all the rules with us as well as the track layout and the passing areas. They broke us up into groups by experience. Many of the experienced drivers did offer to ride along with us. The first lap was lead by a track worker to show us the actual layout. Wasn't like they just turned us loose. But by the mid day, I was hitting 120mph down the strait away and feeling pretty comfortable out there. Was probably the most fun I have had in a car legally!
Hope it works out this year for another one, would go for sure!!
