EQ Tuning is looking for a skilled technician!
We have been overwhelmed with work and our schedule is getting booked out for over a month in advance, so it's time to bring in another mechanic. We're looking for someone with extensive professional experience, a great work ethic, and a good attitude. Subaru experience is a plus. Applicants must also have their own tools. If you or anyone you know would like to apply for the position, please e-mail resumes to Ed@eqtuning.com.
Thanks

Formal auto school training is not required, but professional experience is a must. We will of course provide continued on the job training, but we don't have the time and resources to train someone who has not worked as a mechanic professionally.

All the best Ed, I hope you've made some adjustments to your policies to address the high turnover rate and employee dissatisfaction.
From my experience, it would be wise for anyone applying to have formal training from community college accompanied by full ASE certs. Anything else will leave you unprepared to work comfortably at any tuning shop, let alone EQ. The level of expertise needed to contend with highly modified cars is at least journeyman (5 years) in the trade, and this is compounded by the DIY and home built cars which come through the doors. Many are great, but at least 50% will have some incorrect installations, systemic problems, or faulty parts. It's part of the industry.
goodluck

WORD!
There are so many different parts on the market and so many combinations that every car is completely different and the same symptoms can mean a handful of different things for each car. Much respects to the guys that do this full time.
My wife's VW is making me want to shoot myself.

I am not a pro mechanic, but I have my own set of tools that I take to work on other projects. Once you get used to your own tools and setup it is hard to use someone else's mess. The time you save knowing EXACTLY where everything is at, how it works, etc is huge...especially 40+ hours a week. ANd from a shop owner's perspective, there is less risk of theft.
With that said, best of luck!!
