Thumbs up EQ tuned 02 wrx

got my car tuned by ed today of eq tuning (www.eqtuning.com). the session went very well and it was for an unbeatable price for the quality of tune you get. i mean this guy is obsessive when it comes to perfecting not just the top end, but overall driveability like at part throttle. i highly recommend him. anyways, on to the juice...

setup:
02 wrx 70k+ miles
vf39, pinks, walbro
helix catless tbe
perrin UP, turbo inlet hose, panel filter
ebay aps copy TMIC
ngk bkr7e (one step colder than stock if u didn't already know)
cobb turbo heat shield, AP + protune

the result: 275whp/255wtq

and, of course, the car:

thanks

-marc

i think he metioned on the other boards that it was on a mustang dyno. If that's the case I'm jealous.

yes, ed's road dyno software which simulates a mustang dyno remarkably well. he's actually had a customer that he tuned, then the customer took the car to a reputable bay area mustang dyno...actual dyno results were within 5 whp or less (i don't remember the exact figure) of the numbers ed's road dyno put out. but you'll have to direct any specific questions about the road dyno to ed as he knows the software in and out.

anyways, everyone should remember that all dynos are different and the numbers are only really useful as a tool for tuning, not bragging.

i never got my car tuned by ed until i slapped on the vf39. i did get it tuned in november though, but with the stock tmic, stock turbo inlet hose, no turbo heat shield, and ARC intake instead of stock. on an unfinished tune, it put out about 248 awhp. but remember, this was at about 11 pm on a cold november night. the runs above were done during the early afternoon (1230-230pm) on sunday. the cold weather and nature of the road dyno (alot less heat soak) definitely help put out the numbers. im gonna look into throwing my car on a traditional mustang dyno though...see what's left in my wallet after Christmas shopping lol

i definitely couldn't have gotten this far without i-club, as corny as that may sound. but seriously i found the turbo, injectors, and up pipe in the norcal classifieds for $550(!!!11). thanks out to tony (tkmotorhead) for that. most of my other parts were found through norcal classifieds as well. and i also got a killer deal on the perrin turbo inlet hose and panel filter from oakos automotive (a vendor here). these deals combined with self-installation of everything helped keep my costs down. conclusion: yes, it's a lot of money and time, but DEFINITELY worth it. ed drove my car after tuning with me in the passenger seat...needless to say i made good use of the "oh ****" handle

Glad to hear your car's good numbers. I've had my fair share of grabing the Oh **** handle myself LOL

damn nice finds, one of the reasons why i'm here. How were the installs though? not like a honda for sure huh haha. I've read tutorials and they look hella complicating.
