Engine steam cleaning?
Engine steam cleaning?
Has anyone had their engine steam cleaned. I had my oil cooler o-ring break and all the oil from my car came out and i believe that there is still some on the engine as it smells when it gets hot. This is after Ron Price replaced that for me but its still dirty :P Any local places?

Try using aerosol brake cleaner in the area that is oil soaked. It should break down and remove any oil/grunge residue and will dry clean. I usually do a quick spray down of the underside (for good "hygiene") after doing an oil service.
Hope this helps......and be sure to wear eye protection and use jackstands (SAFETY FIRST!)

I use the method linked below on my Impala (which, unlike the Subie, I take to car shows). Works great, and the "interaction" between the windex and "armor all" (more on that below) works wonders in breaking down any oil underhood. It'll be "blingin" underhood afterwards

Only difference is that instead of using Armor All, I use this stuff called "303 Protectant". Click Here for the link to buy it from Summit Racing, although it should be available at any Pool Supply place in the Bay Area. It cleans and protects rubber (like Armor All claims to do) with a "low gloss" shine, however UNLIKE Armor All it does NOT have petroleum products or silicates in it. As a result, the shine lasts longer and it does NOT attract dust like Armor All will do.
