i know this isnt the right section but ill say it again the bay area guy are usally the most help full any ways i was driving home tonight messing around and brough my wrx up close to redline and then the check engine light popped on just wondering why this would happen car runs fine doesnt seem to have any problems what so ever

yeah i dont know the code this just happened at like 11pm going to my buddys shop tomorrow morning to figure out whats going on hopfully everything is cool and downpipe and catback are the only mods

For a little over $100 (about what most stealerships will charge you for "diagnostics" to use the thing one time) you can get a pretty decent one that even tells you what most of the codes mean without having to find a book and look them up.
Imma take a random guess and say it's the gas cap. Looks like the CEL has been poppin' up recently in the '02s n' '03s, but yea get a look at the code n' then figure out what's really wrong with it before doing anything =D
u gots a tbe or what? My light would go on when i had my perrin downpipe installed, then 2 days after taking it off the check light turned off... don't know your mods though.

as i always say when the engine light coms on it means your car will explode. probably in yoru driveway right after you wash and wax her.
