The Cobb AP has pretty conservative maps, and with any off-the-shelf-map you arent going to get everything out of your car. That being said, the AP is easy to use and accomidates the typical bolt-on mods. Some people love the AP, some say it is garbage. You could always buy one and try it out--if you don't like it, I am sure someone would buy it at near full price.

While the access port maps claim to be consevative, most that I've seen have experienced some pretty bad knock and never ran smoothly (even on the cali maps). For us californian's a custom tune is deffinately the way to go.

Fine, though no one has tremendous experience with it, as only Vishnu sells it.
The big question is: Do you intend to tune your car yourself, or always let someone else (a professional, like Gruppe-S, etc) do it? If you plan to let someone else do it, I'd go straight EcuTek.
However, if you want ot tune yourself, You need to look at UTEC or Xede. I'm not convinced that Xede is tremensously better than UTEC, but TUEC does have a lot more people that know about it.
