Thumbs down Easy way to remove burnt rubber from asphalt?

Some douche did a brake stand in my court and now I have two strips of burnt rubber about 50ft long. Any ideas? I would just wait for the rain but it may be a week until the next down pour.

Talk to an industrial clean up company.

There are a couple chemicals you can buy. Just put the chemical on it and then hit it with a big *** wire brush.

Or you can use a biodegradable degreaser. Poor it all over the place. Let it soak. Then hit it with a wire brush and wash it off with a power washer... just use a slightly wider tip so you don't tear up the asphalt.

But if it's actually melted the asphalt you're hosed. I did that once a long long time ago. Melted a hole in the asphalt. Had to be professionally repaired.

if it's fresh it shouldn't be too hard to brush off with some water and some work...also depends on the surface that it's on.

Careful what chemicals you use and how you use them, including the spray down and clean up. City wont like you contaminating storm drains and streets.

werd... that's why I didn't say gas or diesel. LOL!

You could probably get away with the industrial simple green and that stuff is drain safe.

Some stuff will take the asphalt with it... so that's another possible issue. LOL!

I'd say just go out there with a big brush and hit it next time it's raining. Will take care of most of it...

Unless you have a power washer that can be fanned out a bit and a big brush and want to spend $50 on a degreaser. There's an orange one... kunk off or some crap like that. I have it in my garage. That would probably work too.

Spray, let it soak, keep the contaminated area soaked with the stuff for about 15 minute (this means spray it once in a while to keep it wet with the stuff) and wipe it clean with a damped microfiber cloth

Simple green is safe to drink! (Disclaimer: I do not condone or promote the drinking of cleaning agents, if you have consumed any cleaning agent contact poison control) It is what they use to clean lots of food equipment. Popcorn machines at movie theaters for example.

lol, not to poke fun at you, but I found it amusing that you said you wipe asphalt with a microfiber cloth...

Thanks for the responses. I bought some concrete/asphalt degreaser and scrubbed the hell out of it yesterday but its still very visible. I'll try again later.

As a home owner, yes, it bothers me very much that somebody did a brake stand 15 ft away from my house and left posi marks all the way out of the court. Its disrespectful, unsafe and looks trashy.
